Fishing holidays in Cornwall
Globe Vale Holiday provides the ideal base for your fishing holiday, with easy access to the coast which provides excellent bass beaches and all species of flatfish. In the autumn you will also catch codling and whiting in this area.
If you fish off the beach at Porthowan you should catch bass and flatfish. The rocks around this area produce large pollack, wrasse, conger eel, dogfish, mackerel and the odd gurnard.
St Agnes is a large village on the north coast. It has a choice of beaches. Trevaunance Cove is a great beach for rock pooling while Trevellas Porth is quiet and secluded and popular amongst local fishermen. A third beach, Chapel Porth, is now owned by the National Trust.
Popular with our customers, particularly from St Ives, a 30 minutes drive away down the coast from Globe Vale. St Ives Boats offer boat trips from the harbour at St Ives, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, trips across the bay to the famous Godrevy Lighthouse and Hell’s Mouth, a couple of hours mackerel fishing, four hours wreck fishing, bird watching or private charters to do as you wish.
There are excellent inland freshwater fishing areas in this part of Cornwall. Stithians Lake Country Park is a 20 minute drive. This majestic water, one of England’s most westerly trout fisheries, is regularly stocked with rainbow trout. It contains a natural head of brown trout. Fly fishing only, from both bank and boat (advance booking is essential to guarantee a boat).
