Globe Vale AA Reviews

Always a pleasure to return to Globe Vale Holiday Park, albeit a very difficult period at the time of visiting and my sincere thanks for the time afforded to undertake the inspection.
There is much to commend here, not least of which being the progressive approach with incremental improvements year on year. Great to see the bar and restaurant looking in such great shape and also the burgeoning wedding business, a unique offer with the accommodation also on site. Out on the park, a wide range of options, hence breadth of appeal provided, all areas in great shape allied with high quality amenities. A real sense of pride and professionalism underpinning all aspects of the operation. As a result of this visit, a classification at Five Stars (Platinum) is retained and very well deserved.
There is so much to commend at Globe Vale Holiday Park, not least of which being the pride and care which
underpin all aspects of the operation. There is also a very progressive approach which has resulted in so
many improvements here over the years with a number of changes since the last visit, such as improved car
parking, kitchen upgrades and imminent changes to furnishings in the bar/restaurant. Interesting to hear of
the plans to make more use of the function space, weddings being a priority and no doubt these will prove
very successful. Out on the park, great to see such well presented pitches with excellent fully serviced
hardstandings, capable of accommodating the very largest of motorhomes. Toilets and showers also in
great shape and quality levels very much in line with contemporary expectations. Good signage in all areas
and well surfaced roadways. Plans to introduce child care will be a unique feature and allow parents to
enjoy a visit to the Shaft Inn for a relaxing meal and drink! Overall, great strength in depth and hence a
classification at Five Stars (Platinum) is retained and well deserved.
There is so much to admire at Globe Vale Holiday Park, not least of which being the pride which underpins all facets of the operation. Clearly there has been continuous investment here over the years, which has resulted in high quality levels throughout, exemplified by the superb new kitchen.
The bar area is also a testament to the standards here, high quality combined with practicality and hence ensuring working space is configured to promote ease of use.
The amenity blocks are in excellent shape, the newest facilities reflecting contemporary expectations and no doubt much appreciated by guests, again well planned layout.
Diligent housekeeping very much in evidence, exacting attention to detail and hence ensuring confidence for guests.
An impressive range of pitches with generous proportions, hence ensuring plenty of privacy and exclusivity for guests.
All areas so well presented and hence very favourable first impressions. As a result of this visit, a classification at Five Pennants is retained with a Platinum Award well deserved.
The purpose of my visit was to verify the standards of maintenance and cleanliness were consistent with the Quality Standards requirements and to update our records to reflect any changes to the scores since the last inspection.
It was good to catch up with Paul again and see what’s new at Globe Vale. As we discussed the merits of caravan and camping Paul showed me the new Globe Vale website, which was very impressive indeed, allowing future customers to see every aspect the park has to offer.
On our tour Paul showed me the newly constructed motorhome service point and caravan wash bay. The original toilet/shower block has been replaced by a new facility and the old block is now positioned near the rally field and has been refurbished.
The pitches were well maintained with the grass cut and the surrounding grounds, trees, shrubs and flowers all looking good. The bar area is having a new function room built with a disabled toilet.
The kitchens are due to be refurbished this winter so watch this space. I can confirm that the AA Classification remains at 5 Pennant Platinum with the quality score at 95%.
I thanked Paul for his time and wished him well for the new season.
On my recent visit I met with Paul who kindly showed me around. Paul was very excited about the new toilet/shower block which was due to open on the day of my visit. This building sets a whole new standard of toilets/showers facilities. The fixtures, fittings and finish are of top hotel standards with individual cubicles and large shower rooms. The less abled room is also well equipped with the same level of finish.
The pitches were well maintained with the grass cut and the surrounding grounds, trees, shrubs and flowers all looking good. The bar/restaurant area was clean and tidy with an outside deck area with outside seating.
Plans to extend the kitchen and modify the bar area are in the pipeline. Watch this space. I can confirm that the AA Classification remains at 5 Pennant Platinum with the quality score at 95%.
It was a pleasure to visit Globe Vale Holiday Park for this year’s scheduled call inspection and to meet with Paul, Louise and Mr Owen senior who were thanked for their time and discussion. Naturally an AA 5 Pennant rating was confidently maintained with Platinum award continued in recognition of the high levels of quality provided throughout the park and its facilities.
Continued investment and improvement remained commendable and it was understood that upgrades had been completed e.g. new septic tanks (C&C and Touring area). Other works were more obvious e.g. relocation of the shop to the main reception and conversion of the existing into a WiFi room.
It was advised that WiFi had also been improved across all areas of the park. Further redressing of hardstanding pitches had also been carried out. In the fully serviced areas further planting had been carried out to add more privacy in area B and mature planting managed in area A.
It was also advised that the hire fleet of statics in Park View were all new and that works were planned to complete new pads in Valley View (currently not used). Amenity block was seen to be very well maintained with fixtures and fittings remaining in excellent condition.
Levels of cleanliness remained to a high standard as is expected at this level of award. It was advised centralising the recycling was paying dividends. Paul and the team were wished well for the remainder of the year and planned projects ahead.
It was good to visit Globe Vale again and this year meet with the owner Paul who kindly showed me around.
Paul was busy with new lodges and caravans but the touring side is definitely not overlooked.
The facilities were spotless with top grade fixtures and fittings with new cladding fitted to one of the toilet blocks. The dish wash areas and laundry room were equally as clean.
Out on the park, new road coverings have been added, more hardwearing gravel, which does not go to dust easily.
The pitches were well maintained with the surrounding grounds, trees and shrubs all looking good.
The children’s play area has been completely refurbished with new equipment fitted, all made in house, which looked really good.
The bar/restaurant looked clean and tidy and it’s a very popular venue with outside seating.
A very well managed and maintained park and I have no hesitation in awarding Globe Vale a Platinum status. Well done all.
I can confirm that the AA classification is 5 Pennant with the new PLATINUM award – an elite AA park.
Chris, the park manager, greeted me on arrival in reception and he kindly agreed to show me around.
The pitches were very well maintained and Chris said they had levelled a sloping area (originally grass pitches) and added a further 33 fully serviced hardstanding pitches. The ground landscaping was excellent with the hedges, trees and shrubs all looking very good.
The toilets and showers were very well appointed and spotlessly clean as was the dish wash area and laundry room. A good recycling system is in operation and locations are well marked.
The well-stocked shop, bar/restaurant were all looking clean and tidy. A very well maintained park with good investment year on year. Well done to all at Globe Vale.
I can confirm that the AA 5 Pennant classification with a slight increase in the quality score to an excellent 94%.
Globe Vale has been extended yet again. Owner Paul Owen has bought more land, which he is turning into a new Recreational area and an area for wild camping. Also, a new Caravan Storage area has been created and already has some occupancy. There is also a new enclosed dog exercise area.
The toilet and shower facilities are of outstanding quality with high quality fixtures and fittings. The laundry area is also high quality with washing machines that require no washing liquids, as they are automatically fed from behind the scenes.
The views from this site are incredible with 3 historic tin mines in a line as you drive down the lane to the site. In light of the improvements to this site I have raised the Quality Score to 92%.
In terms of AA Quality Standards, Globe Vale continues to attain a 5 Pennant rating within The AA Caravan & Camping Scheme, with an increased quality score of 92% (Gold Pennant Standard), and I wish Paul a very successful 2016 season.

Globe Vale is a fantastic, award-winning site and has come on in leaps and bounds since my last visit 3 years ago. Reached by driving through a very smart static caravan area, I received a warm welcome from Paul, who kindly drove me round his site for inspection.
The grasses looked beautiful and the trees and shrubs are maturing nicely giving this site a really rural feel. My compliments to the ground maintenance staff. I found the toilets/showers to be pristine and absolutely spotless with every conceivable fixture and fitting necessary.
Paul informed me that improvements for this season include the installation of a high speed Wi-Fi system and a new shop on site.
In terms of AA Quality Standards, Globe Vale continues to attain a 5 Pennant rating within the AA Caravan & Camping Scheme, with an increased quality score to 90% (Gold Pennant standard), and I wish Paul a very successful 2015 season.

Every year I visit this superb park there are improvements for me to see.
I received a very friendly welcome from Paul, who accompanied me on my inspection and was keen to show me the excellent terracing on the fully serviced pitch area.
This very tidy park covers an area of 13 acres with plenty of open space. There are 99 touring pitches and 39 statics of which some are for hire.
Well-maintained touring areas all have well cut grass and expertly trimmed hedges and shrubs.
There are two facility blocks, one of which Paul very proudly designed and built to the highest quality; both are well equipped and spotlessly clean.
There is a very comfortable bar and conservatory, tastefully equipped for dining and overlooking a patio area and children’s play area. The menu has a good choice of locally sourced foods.
Congratulations to Paul and his team for the continuous improvements. I can confirm the AA 5 Pennant rating with an increased Quality Score of 87%.

Set in 13 acres of rural countryside this touring site is ideally located for exploring some of Cornwall’s famous beaches.
Paul kindly accompanied me around his site and I found the Reception and Information Room very modern and bright.
In addition to a static park, this is a really well-manicured site with an exceptionally well thought out “fully serviced pitch” area for tourers.
The facilities blocks have all been designed and manufactured by Paul and, not only are they of exceptional quality, but they are very clean and tidy, and spotlessly clean.
There is also a good games room adjacent to the bar and play area. The bar has been upgraded for this season, and every facility on this site is top class with modern fixtures and fittings.
Improvements made for this season: New Motorhome Service Point; Heating installed in facilities I can confirm the upgrade to the AA 5 PENNANT RATING with a well deserved Quality Score of 85%.
