Our bar & restaurant is open during peak periods between May and September.

Is the campsite dog friendly?

Yes, Globe Vale Holiday Park is dog friendly and welcomes pets.

Where is the nearest town and shopping centre?

The nearest towns are Redruth and Camborne.

We are also only a 20 minute drive (traffic depending) from Truro,

Cornwall’s regional shopping centre. You will find many of the

large brands as well as lots of independent shops and cafes to enjoyl

Which is the nearest beach?

Our local beaches are Portreath and Porthtowan.

distance from the campsite. They are family friendly and life guarded.

Is there Wifi access?

Yes, we offer Wifi access – we have hot spots around the park.

Prices per device:

Wifi charges:

£5 for 3 days. Unlimited use.

£10 per week. Unlimited use.

Can we have a camp fire or BBQ?

We allow BBQs and fire-pits throughout the park. They must be

raised off the ground and we have blocks available, if needed.

Do you have a shop on site?

There will be an onsite shop for summer 2015, please watch this space for details.

Do you have electric hook ups?

Yes, every pitch has 16 amp hook ups.

When can we arrive and what time to do we have to leave?

Pitches: For customers booking a tent, caravan, or motorhome pitch,

you can arrive from 2pm on the day you join us.

We ask that you vacate your pitch by 10am on the day you leave.

Arriving before 9am or after 6pm?

Static caravans: our static caravans are available from 3pm on the day of arrival.

We ask that you vacate your static caravan by 10 am on the day you leave.

Campsite Booking FAQs

Do I have to book in advance?

For static caravans, yes, we ask that you book in advance.

For pitches, it is advisable that you book in advance, especially during peak periods. For on the day bookings, please contact Louise first to check availability: 01209 891193

Do you accept one night bookings?

Yes, we do for tent, caravan and motorhome pitches. Our static caravans are booked weekly in peak periods and a minimum of 3 nights stay during off peak periods.

How do I make a booking?

You can book online here, by post or over the phone. See our contact us page for our phone number, postal and email address.

What forms of payment do you accept?

You can pay by credit card, debit card, or cheque. You can also pay cash on arrival, please call Louise for details on 01209 891183. (See our terms and conditions page for full details.)

When do I have to pay/ do I have to pay a deposit?

We ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit on booking and the balance paid four weeks before your arrival date.

If you are booking within four weeks of your arrival date, we ask that you pay in full when making your booking. If you prefer to pay cash on arrival, please phone Louise on 01209 891183.

Will you confirm our booking?

Yes, we confirm all bookings by email.

Can I change my booking in any way?

Bookings can be flexible, please contact Louise and we’ll do our best for you. 01209 891183.

Do you offer refunds if we cancel or leave early?

Yes, we offer refunds if you cancel more than 7 days before your booking is due to start, minus the 25% non-refundable deposit.

We do not offer refunds if you choose to leave early, or cancel within 7 days of your arrival date. (Please click here to see our terms and conditions page for our full cancellation policy.)

I need to cancel my booking, what do I do?

Please call 01209 891183 or email info@globevale.co.uk and Louise will be happy to provide full details about how to cancel a booking at Globe Vale Holiday Park.

Do you accept group bookings?

Yes, we accept group bookings. Each year we have a number of groups and caravan rallies stay with us at Globe Vale Holiday Park. Check out our caravan rallies and group bookings page.

Are there any party/group make up restrictions?

We ask that single sex groups of three or more people seek our agreement first, before a booking is made – unless they are of the same family, and all from different generations. Call 01209 891183

Also, the person making the booking must be over 18 and staying with the party.

Campsite practicalities FAQs

What’s included in the price?

For our tent, caravan and camper van pitches please see our caravan and camping pages

For static caravans, please see our holiday caravans page.

Fully serviced pitches have level, all weather surfaces with their own water supply, lighting, 16amp electric hook up. We also have fully serviced grass pitches too.

Premier pitches have grass surfaces, 16 amp electric hook ups and shared water taps.

Can we stay next to our friends who are camping at your site?

We will do our best to offer you a pitch next to your friends and family, but at times it may not be possible.

Can under-18s stay on the site?

Yes, we are a family friendly holiday park. Our campsite open spaces allow room for children to play games and run around, as well as having a dedicated children’s play area, too.

We are also very close to the Coast to Coast cycle/walking trail which offers miles of cycle tracks and walking.

Are you open all year?

Yes. We keep our 21 fully serviced, hard standing pitches open 365 days a year.

Our static caravans can be booked for holidays between March and September.

What are the reception and site opening hours?

The reception is open 7 days a week, from 9am. If you believe you will arrive before 9am or after 6pm, we would appreciate a call beforehand to let us know.

Can I park next to my tent or caravan?

Yes, our pitches are spacious and allow for a car to park next to a tent or caravan.

Are you wheelchair friendly?

Our main shower and toilet block has full disabled access.

Can I reserve a particular pitch?

We will endeavour to provide you with the pitch you request or stayed on last time at Globe Vale, however we cannot guarantee it as it may not always be possible. (Please see our full terms and conditions here.)

How many people does a pitch accommodate?

Pitches can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. Our pitch prices are based on 2 people camping, For bookings greater than two people, there is an extra charge of £3 per person per night (children under 4 stay free.)

Can we have more than one tent or car on our pitch?

We allow extra pup tents, up to a maximum of two per pitch at £2 per tent, per night. We also allow a maximum of two vehicles per pitch. The cost of each extra vehicle is £2 per night. Link to pricing page & terms and conditions.

Do I have to pay for the showers?

No, there is no charge to use the showers or toilets, they are included in the price of the pitch.

Can I leave my touring caravan with you on a longer term basis?

Can we bring a second car or boat on a trailor?

Yes, there is an additional charge of £2 per night for each extra vehicle, boat or trailor.

Is smoking permitted?

We comply with current, UK, smoking legislation. More information here.

Do you have toilets and showers ?

Yes, we have purpose built shower and toilet blocks for our camping, caravan and motor home pitches, including a disabled shower and toilet.

Do you have anywhere I can use my hairdryer?

Yes, we have sockets in our information room where you can use a hair dryer.

Can I charge my mobile phone – laptop – tablet – games console?

Yes, you can charge electronic devices in the office. Donations to our charity box are welcome.

Do you have a launderette on site?

Yes, we have two washing machines, two tumble driers, as well as an ironing board and iron. See our facilities page for full details

Can I freeze my own ice packs?

Yes, we have a freezer available for this. Donations to our charity box are welcome.

Can I refill my Camping Gas/ Calor Gas bottle on site?

Yes, we supply Calor Gas.

What time is food served?

Between 6-9pm, Monday to Saturday during peak periods.

Is there anywhere I can store chilled frozen foods?

Freezer available (items left at own risk).

Do you allow music?

Yes, we allow music, but we expect considerate behaviour towards other campers. Please see our full terms and conditions page.

Is there a children’s play area on the site?

Yes, we have a childrens’ play area situated near our restaurant and bar. We ask that children are supervised while using the play area.

Do you allow children in the bar?

Yes, children are welcome in the bar and restaurant. We also serve children’s meals.

Do you have chemical waste disposal for my caravan/campervan.

Yes, we have two chemical waste disposal blocks and a motor home service point.

Can we fly kites/play games?

Yes, our spacious site layout allows for the flying of kites, and children can often be seen enjoying playing cricket and other games.

Is there safe drinking water?

Yes. Each of our fully serviced pitches comes with its own water tap, making it much more convenient to fill up your water cans. Our premier pitches have shared water taps placed at convenient points around each field.

Is there a cash machine on site? Our nearest cash machine can be found at Redruth’s Tesco supermarket.

Is there much to do in the area?

There are lots of things to do in this part of Cornwall for all ages.

What if the weather is wet?

Mid and west Cornwall offers lots of things to do when the weather is wet. Here are just a few ideas:

There are swimming pools at Pool (near Redruth)St Ives  and Truro.

Ships and Castle’s Leisure Centre in Falmouth holds fun sessions that include a flume, wave machine and river run.

There are cinemas in Redruth  and Truro.

There are great museums and art galleries in Falmouth, Truro and St Ives. The Eden Project’s biomes, and Newquay’s aquarium are fantastic on wet days too.

Are there walks/cycle routes close by?

We are close to the Cornish coast path, and just yards from the Coast to Coast trail which goes to Portreath on the north coast to Devoran, near Falmouth, on the south coast. This offers miles of walking and cycling for people of all ages. Discover more here.

Where do people eat?

We have a restaurant and bar on site, which offers takeaway food between May and September. Check out or facilities page here.

There are also two pubs, locally, that serve good food all year round.

Where is the nearest shop or supermarket?

Our nearest shops are Etherington’s Farm Shop and Angus Trotter – where we source all the meat for our restaurant – are both just a few minutes away.

The nearest supermarket, Tesco at Redruth, is about a 7 minutes drive, or Morrisons. The nearest Lidl is in Pool, between Redruth and Camborne.

Where is the nearest bank?

Redruth (2.5 miles) has branches of the following banks: HSBC, Halifax, Nat West, Barclays, Santander, Lloyds.

Are there any sites of Special Scientific Interest nearby?

Yes, we are close to the Godrevy to St Agnes Coastal Site of Scientific Interest, which stretches from Godrevy Towans to St Agnes Head.

There is an emergency dentist nearby at the Dentist Service: 01872 354375.

Where is the nearest hospital?

Camborne and Redruth Community Hospital has a Minor Injuries Unit only.

Treliske Hospital has the nearest Accident and Emergency Department.

Where is the nearest vet?

And not forgetting the wellbeing of our pets, the nearest veterinary surgery is Cornwall Animal Hospital, Redruth

Can I walk to Portreath or Redruth?

Yes, it is possible to walk or cycle to Portreath and Redruth. The Coast to Coast trail can be used for parts of both journeys.

Which are the nearest churches?

Redruth has a number of churches of all denominations, find out more here. 

Do the local beaches take dogs? 

Yes, there are a number of beaches that allow dogs in both the summer and winter. The nearest being Trevornans Cove nr St Agnes, and Perranporth. Dogs are allowed on Portreath beach from 7pm each evening in the summer.
